Privacy policy
Updated 29 September 2026
This site is run by me, Vlad Pavel, in Vancouver, British Columbia. This policy explains what personal information I collect through vladpavel.com and my consultations, why, who helps me handle it, and what you can ask me to do with it. I follow British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act and, where it applies, Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act.
What I collect
- When you book a consultation: your name, your email, what you tell me about your business, the time you pick and your time zone, plus your company name and phone number if you give them.
- To stop spam: the internet address (IP address) a booking request comes from, kept for up to an hour to limit repeated requests.
- When you pay: your name, the amount and how you paid. Card payments go through Stripe, and I never see your full card number. Interac e-Transfers go through your bank and mine.
- When you email or message me: whatever you send.
- During a consultation: my notes about your business. If we meet in person, I may ask to record our conversation so I don’t miss anything, and turn the recording into a written transcript. I only record if you agree, and you can ask me to stop at any time.
- When you visit: anonymous statistics, such as which pages are viewed, which buttons are tapped, the site that sent you, and your general device, browser and country. They come from Vercel Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and doesn’t identify you.
Why I use it
- To arrange, confirm, move and hold your consultation, take payment for it, and send the Google Meet link.
- To prepare for it, and to give you my findings and a written plan.
- If you go ahead, to quote, build and support the platform.
- To reply to you, and to keep the site working and secure.
I don’t sell your information, and I don’t use it for advertising. I won’t send you marketing emails unless you ask for them.
Who helps me
These service providers handle information on my behalf, only to provide their service to me:
- Vercel hosts this site, its visit statistics and consultation recordings.
- Upstash stores booking requests and consultation notes.
- Google (Gmail and Google Meet) sends and receives my email and runs our video calls.
- Stripe processes card payments.
- Deepgram turns recordings into transcripts.
- Anthropic (Claude) is the AI assistant I use to organize my notes and draft my findings.
Some of them store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it is subject to the laws there. I stay responsible for your information while a provider handles it for me.
How long I keep it
The booking system deletes your request a week after the consultation’s time. Emails, notes, recordings and transcripts I keep only as long as I need them for the reasons above, or longer if the law requires it (tax records, for example), and then I delete them. You can ask me to delete a recording or transcript of your consultation at any time.
How I protect it
The site and the services it uses connect over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Booking requests, notes and recordings are private: they can only be reached through my own sign-in or private links sent to me.
Cookies
This site doesn’t use advertising or tracking cookies. The only cookie is the sign-in for my own private tools, which visitors never reach.
Your rights
- Ask for a copy of the personal information I hold about you.
- Ask me to correct it.
- Withdraw your consent, or ask me to delete your information, unless the law requires me to keep it.
Email me at vladmpavel@gmail.com and I’ll answer within 30 days. If you’re not happy with my answer, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
Children
This site is for businesses. It isn’t meant for anyone under 19, and I don’t knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If I change this policy, I’ll post the new version here and update the date at the top.
